Particularly in the case of advice and out-of-court representation, the attorney's fee can also be freely negotiated between attorney and client. As a rule, advice and representation is then offered at a time-based fee (usually an hourly rate).

For long-term clients we also offer monthly flat rates that are terminable at short notice. In this case, the invoicing is carried out either monthly or quarterly. Flat rates can also be agreed on for project work.

In Germany, success fees are generally not permitted under the professional law for attorneys. In individual cases and if certain conditions are met, it is possible to agree on an appropriate surcharge on the statutory remuneration or on the agreed hourly rate in the case of success. Particularly when pursuing larger claims, it may be reasonable for the client to resort to third party litigation funding. The third party covers costs and in return receives a share in the case of success. As a result, the client minimises his own cost risk. We would be pleased to support you in contacting and negotiating with renowned litigation funders.

We cooperate with almost all legal expenses insurances that operate on the German market. These generally offer good cost protection, for example in traffic or labour law. There are some practice areas, such as family and inheritance law, where they only cover initial consultation. In other areas of law, such as construction law, there is often no or only limited coverage. We are happy to establish the scope of your insurance cover before we take action on your behalf!

Some legal expenses insurers also offer legal protection for criminal law and administrative offences. In criminal law, we usual work on the basis of hourly fees/daily flat rates.
